Lightsource bp receives 'Overseas Direct Investment' award by British Embassy in Portugal
We are delighted to have won the ‘Overseas Direct Investment’ award at the 13th edition of the UK-Portugal Business Awards. The awards are run by the British Embassy in Portugal to promote the trade relations and investment between the two countries.
We are grateful to the Embassy for recognising our growth and commitment to Portugal’s energy transition. We have set clear ambitions for our expansion in Portugal over the next few years, with a pipeline of approximately 1.5GW of solar to be developed between 2023 and 2027.
Miguel Lobo, our Country Head in Portugal, said “We are grateful to the British Embassy in Portugal for recognising Lightsource bp’s commitment to Portugal’s energy transition. We have an incredible team that is focused on deploying large-scale solar projects at pace in Portugal, contributing not only to the country’s energy independence, but also the acceleration of the global energy transition. This award highlights our contribution to the national economy as a trusted local employer and investor.”
