Supporting Delaware County<\/h2>\n

By engaging local stakeholders, supporting economic development and aligning with community-driven philanthropic goals, we aim to create projects that not only generate renewable energy but deliver meaningful long-term benefits to the people and places we serve. Since 2023, we have contributed more than $900,000 to local schools and non-profits across the United States.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Fiddle Leaf <\/span>solar project will create more than 100<\/span> well-paying jobs during construction, prioritizing local hires. The project will also contribute an estimated $32 million in new tax revenue for the local government over its lifetime. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How solar farms work<\/h3>\n

Solar<\/span> farms<\/span> add energy to the local electric grid, just<\/span> like<\/span> other <\/span>electric <\/span>power <\/span>plant<\/span>s<\/span>.<\/span> R<\/span>ows of solar panels produce <\/span>the <\/span>electricity, which flows <\/span>through the<\/span> grid<\/span> to power<\/span> places like homes, businesses, <\/span>schools<\/span> and hospitals.\u202f\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Solar panels are mounted on structures called racking. Racking sits on posts that raise the panels above the ground. The posts take up less than 5% of the land. With significant open space under the panels, in the rows and in buffer areas to plant site-specific grasses and other vegetation, we set a goal of<\/span>\u202fincreasing biodiversity<\/span><\/b><\/a>\u202fin the first 5 years of operation. We also\u202f<\/span>integrate agriculture<\/span><\/b><\/a>\u202fwhere practical.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The racking is equipped with smart solar trackers that slowly and quietly rotate throughout the day, following the sun to maximize solar energy production. These\u202f<\/span>smart trackers serve other important purposes<\/span><\/b><\/a>, too: they help protect solar panels from hailstorms, high winds and buildup of snow on solar panels.\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n
