Brazil's Milagres Solar ranked in the top 10 for energy generation

Among the 13GW of utility-scale solar farms in operation in Brazil, two of Lightsource bp’s Milagres solar farms have ranked in the top 10 and another three in the top 15 for renewable energy generation as listed in the e-Power Bay – an online platform for announcing renewable energy projects – February 2024 report.

E-Power Bay released the Ranking Operational Wind and Solar report using the information made public by the Electric Energy Trading Chamber – CCEE, the operator of the Brazilian electric energy market, for its February 2024 monthly operational performance.

From commercial operation to top 10 rank in two months

The Milagres solar project began operation in December 2023. Within two months, the project had achieved its status as a top ten renewable energy generator. This success was made possible through the in-house expertise of our engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and asset management teams.

Our specialised experts, including those in engineering, system integration allowed us to streamline the process, mitigate any challenges and execute to deliver a high-performing solar asset.

The ranking is based on “the capacity factor (FC) on a monthly basis; FC equals energy generation / (installed power * number of hours of the month)”
