Taking time out for our wellbeing day-off
To encourage healthy work-life balance, this year we once again rewarded our team members with an extra day of annual leave to focus on their wellbeing. Whether taking time to get exercise, relax and recharge, or enjoy a fun activity, the day encourages our team members to create space to focus on something beneficial to their health.
Have a look at what some of our team members did for the day…
“The VIBES initiative for an additional wellbeing day off was well needed. I used it to get some vitamin Sea and enjoy time with my friends and family.”
Marina Talalajeva, Senior HSE Advisor, UK
“I took the opportunity to go to Edinburgh to attend Fringe for the third year in a row and go up into the Edinburgh hills where I haven’t been before.”
Farah Sarhan, Senior Engineering Manager, UK
“My wife and I got to take our two-and-a-half-month-old daughter for her first camping and hiking trip in the Rockies! Campsites typically fill up way in advance for weekends, so having the Thursday night off let us get a spot. We had a blast so thanks again to everyone who was involved in giving us this extra day!”
Logan Brown, Senior Analyst, Portfolio Strategy, U.S.
“I split my day in two – I went to Pilates and did some life admin in the morning and then treated myself to lunch in a local coffee shop. In the afternoon I collected my son early from nursery and we went to the park. 😊”
Kirsty Bell, Associate General Counsel, UK
“I went for a long mental wellbeing walk in Scotland with family. There is nothing better than walking through a gorgeous forest.”
Joshua Farmer, Digital Content Manager, UK
“Explored London on lime bikes with some of my brothers that are visiting.”
Connor Tilbrook, Senior Strategy Analyst, UK
“I started my day with my puppas, then made the gooiest chocolate chip cookies and ended it at a brewery on the lake with a killer sunset!”
Ellie Andrivon, Head of HSE, Australia
“I spent the sunny day at my gym and local spa, managing a decent swim which is something I miss terribly since living in London – it was an excellent way to recharge and start the longer weekend.”
Erin Hanna, Communication Manager, UK
“Took the opportunity to sneak off for an early round of golf with some friends I haven’t managed to see in a while. We lucked out with the weather, not so much with the golf though.”
Peter Bennett, Senior Communications Manager, UK
“I took my daughter to Mudchute Farm!”
Kin Tang, Senior Director, Structured Finance, UK
“Lovely day in the sun at Bigbury beach in South Devon with friends. Spot the sea tractor in the photo that got us to the pub on Burgh Island during high-tide.”
Andrew Kriss, Head of Commercial Engineering, UK
“Recharging batteries at home: books and sun, perfect combination.”
Isabel Lorenzo Gallego, Communications Associate – Southern Europe, Spain
“I managed to get out in the sun and play 18 holes of golf for my wellbeing day.”
Louis Young, Senior Trade Finance Analyst, UK
