Approved solar installation at Down Barn Farm
The approved proposal involves Lightsource bp funding and operating a solar installation that will connect into the local electricity network onsite and will have an output power capacity of 49.9MW (Megawatts).
Lightsource bp has received approval for a proposal for a solar installation at Down Barn Farm, Cholderton Estate, Cholderton, Wiltshire, SP4 0EH.
We undertook a wide range of environmental assessments to select the site area shown below, including landscape and visual, heritage and archaeology, ecology and more.
We held an information event on Tuesday 22nd October 2019 at Cholderton Village Hall, A338, Cholderton, Wiltshire, SP4 0DN, to inform the local community and ask for their feedback. Representatives from Lightsource bp were on hand to answer any questions about the proposal from local residents and interested parties, and we sent out an information leaflet to the local community, as well as a press release to local newspapers. Lightsource bp sold this project in 2021.
