Miguel Vega appointed Director Business Development EMEA

Lightsource bp, a global leader in development and management of renewable energy projects announces the appointment of Miguel Vega as Director Business Development EMEA. Miguel joins us from OceanWinds, where he was Chief Business Development Officer since 2020. He brings over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.

At Lightsource bp, Miguel will be responsible for delivering further growth in the EMEA markets through a combination of greenfield, co-development and M&A activities, including delivering 10GW of developed assets until 2025YE.

Prior to joining Lightsource bp, Miguel helped create OceanWinds, a 50:50 joint venture between EDPR and ENGIE, where he was responsible for setting up the Business Development team which took the company’s portfolio from approximately 6GW to nearly 16GW in less than three years. Previously, Miguel held different roles in M&A, FP&A and Business Development in Europe and the United States at EDPR.

Miguel holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from IE Business School and speaks six languages. He joins Lightsource bp’s team of nearly 1000 industry professionals working across 19 active markets. The company is targeting the development of 25GW of solar by 2025.
