2024 was another excellent year for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team at Lightsource bp. The team provides comprehensive third-party services for solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the UK, and in 2024 they excelled in a number of categories:<\/p>\n

Recognition<\/strong><\/p>\n

In September 2024, Lightsource bp was announced as the winner of the Best O&M Award at the Solar & Storage Awards. This award recognises the excellent framework, experience, and resources offered by our O&M business, supporting high performance of solar and storage assets. O&M has long been a core tenant of Lightsource bp\u2019s solar excellence in the UK, and we\u2019re proud to have that success recognised by one of the leading industry bodies.<\/p>\n

Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n

The hard work, dedication and expertise of our O&M function has been recognised this year by asset owners across the UK, as we onboarded 29 new sites and saw portfolio growth of 30%, as well as team growth of 7%. We closed out the year with 1.3GW of solar and energy storage under our O&M management.<\/p>\n

Performance<\/strong><\/p>\n

2024 saw us excelling in terms of performance, signing contracts with 99% string level availability, as opposed to the industry standard of 99% inverter level. We\u2019re proud to be able to offer services unique to the sector, showcasing the talent and expertise of our team and our dedication to providing top-level performance and returns.<\/p>\n

Capabilities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Year on year we work to enhance our in-house capabilities, and 2024 was no different. With 99% of our O&M jobs done internally, we added another string to our bow by introducing in-house drone capabilities with fully trained pilots and high-quality technology.<\/p>\n
