Lexie Hain, Lightsource bp\u2019s Director of Agrivoltaics and Land Management in the USA, was honored with the Champion of the Year award, while the company\u2019s innovative Peacock Solar project was awarded Solar Ranch of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>NAAA celebrates outstanding achievements in agrivoltaics\u2014the integration of solar power generation and agricultural land use\u2014across North America. The awards were presented on August 4 during the <a href=\"https:\/\/solarfarmsummit.com\/\">Solar Farm Summit<\/a> in Chicago, Illinois.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese honors are a testament to Lightsource bp\u2019s ongoing commitment to pioneering agrivoltaics in utility scale renewable energy\u201d said Emilie Wangerman, Chief Operating Officer and Head of USA, Lightsource bp. \u201cAgrivoltaics unlocks important economic opportunities for our sheep graziers, beekeepers and all our partners in this effort.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b>Lexie Hain<\/b>, winner of the 2025 Solar Champion of the Year, is an internationally recognized leader in agrivoltaics. Hain is a founder of American Solar Grazing Association and still serves on its Board of Directors. Hain led efforts to integrate agrivoltaics at Lightsource bp sites across the USA\u2014currently, approximately 20,000 sheep graze 2.8 GW.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lightsourcebp.staging.1int.co.uk\/us\/project\/peacock-solar\/\"><b>Peacock Solar<\/b><\/a>, winner of the 2025 Solar Ranch of the Year, is a 187MW solar farm located in San Patricio County, TX.\u00a0 Beneath and between the solar panels, the site is planted with a mix of native vegetation that supports pollinators and local wildlife.\u00a0 Additionally, a managed flock of sheep graze the land as part of an ongoing partnership with local farmers, providing year-round agricultural activity and creating income opportunities that help sustain the local rural
