Lightsource bp financed, built, and currently operates the Grants Solar and Bluewater Solar projects in New Mexico. The solar farms, which entered commercial operations in December 2019, provide renewable energy to the Continental Divide Electric Coop (CDEC), a not-for-profit, member-owned electric distribution co-op in New Mexico. CDEC provides service to about 24,130 meters throughout Cibola and parts of McKinley, Sandoval, Bernalillo and Valencia counties.<\/p>\n

Lightsource bp and CDEC have a 20-year fixed-rate contract for affordable, renewable electricity to power more than 1,600 homes in New Mexico. CDEC purchases all the electricity from Grants Solar and Bluewater Solar under the 25-year power contract.<\/p>\n

The solar farms support CDEC\u2019s efforts to keep energy costs economical to its members, as well as embrace New Mexico\u2019s renewable energy and carbon reduction goals.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
