Lightsource bp has always been more than solar. One of the key corporate responsibilities close to our heart is giving back. This is why we created The Foundation. Since 2014 the Lightsource Foundation, working with World Vision UK, have helped transform thousands of lives, building strong bonds with the communities we support and bringing hope and better futures for the children that suffer most.

Nick Boyle, Group CEO of Lightsource bp, said: “Being shortlisted for a Business Charity Award is great recognition that we’re making a difference. We’ve always strived to go beyond business as usual and our nine-year partnership with WorldVision is exactly that. We’ve almost raised £1 million and made a tangible difference to more than 40,000 of the most vulnerable people in impoverished communities around the world, something that we’re fiercely proud of.

“None of this would be possible without our team members — thank you to every single Lightsource bp team member that regularly gives, helps fundraise and pour in the passion, empathy, motivation and delivery that we’re so good at.

“Our focus now and in the future will be the safety and wellbeing of children in our new community in Sarlahi, Nepal. Our work with WorldVision is only just beginning and I can’t wait to keep driving positive change together.”

Jake White, Head of Corporate Partnerships & New Business, World Vision UK, said: “We are thrilled to have our partnership with The Lightsource Foundation shortlisted for the Business Charity Awards. For nearly ten years our partnership has worked tirelessly to support children living in some of the poorest of places in the world, and it’s because of the generosity of the employees at Lightsource bp that together we have been able to do just that.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Wednesday 10th May – cross your fingers for us!
